I’m a high school science teacher living in Eastern North Carolina with my lovely wife Leah and our two cats, Texas Pete and Calamity Jane. I have a degree in Environmental Studies from UNCA and I am currently working on a masters degree in Instructional Technology at East Carolina University.
Growing up, I lived in Pamlico and Buncombe Counties in North Carolina as well as Tarrant County, Texas. This allowed me to experience the big three in BBQ (Ketchup, Vinegar and Beef) during my formative food years. I haven’t been the same since.
My BBQ arsenal currently consists of a couple of Weber Performers, a Limited Edition Red Kettle set up to run on propane, a Jumbo Joe, a couple of Go Anywheres, a beautiful Weber Copper Kettle, a two burner Weber Spirit and soon (hopefully) a UDS and a PK! My grills get quite the workout as you can hopefully tell from my writing. I love cowboy cooking and learned how to cook with cast iron when I was in scouts.
